Digitization of Land Records: Skandan reviews progress in Jammu province

JAMMU, JULY 24: Advisor to Governor, K Skandan today reviewed the progress on scanning and digitization process of Revenue records in Jammu province under Digital India Land Record Modernization Programme (DILRMP) and other related issues here at a meeting of senior revenue department officers.

The meeting was attended by Financial Commissioner, Revenue, Dr Pawan Kotwal, Divisional Commissioner, Jammu, Sanjeev Verma, Deputy Commissioner Samba, Sushma Chouhan, Deputy Commissioner Udhampur, Piyush Singla, Deputy Commissioner Jammu, Ramesh Kumar, Deputy Commissioner Kathua, Dr Raghav, Regional Director Survey and Land Records, Rifat Kohli and ACR Jammu, ADC Jammu, Tehsildars and other concerned while Deputy Commissioners of, Rajouri, Poonch, Doda, Kishtwar, Ramban and Reasi along with other concerned officers attended the meeting through video conferencing.

The Advisor directed the concerned for providing additional scanners, computers, gensets and other materials to expedite the process, besides to constitute teams for spot inspection. He also directed the concerned officers to meet   the deadline for digitization of land records.

Earlier, Deputy Commissioners apprised the Advisor about the number of documents scanned and number of Jamabandis (Record of Right) updated in their respective districts.

It was informed that 128 Jamabandis (Record of Right) have been updated in district Kathua, 66 in Ramban district, 39 in Kishtwar District, 260 in Rajouri district and 174 in Poonch district.   The DCs also gave the number of documents scanned and status of quality check of scanned documents. They sought additional scanners and computers for early completion of digitization process.
