FacebookTwitterWhatsapp

Srinagar, July 19: Senior NC leader and former Finance Minister, Ab Rahim Rather on Friday said the internal roads in Charar e Sharief Assembly Constituency are in a dilapidated condition and hence not traffic worthy at all. “The public in the area is suffering badly on this account. The locals living in the area have been left to fend for themselves.”

In a statement issued here today, Rather has urged the governor’s administration to take up the reconstruction of these roads on priority basis so that the sufferings of the people are alleviated at the earliest. “The roads in the areas are in battered condition. The students and the patients are at the receiving end of it. The administration has shut its eyes and ears to the mounting woes of the locals.”

While decrying the shortage of water in the areas he said, “Some water supply schemes in the area are non functional which need early attention of the government.”

Rather has expressed concern that the fruit-growers of the area whose crops got damaged due to hailstorm are yet to be compensated. “I urge the incumbent administration to recompense the losses to farmers at the earliest.”
