Dr. Sandeep Mawa, Chairman Jammu and Kashmir Reconciliation Front (KRF), the group that had organized the sit in, said, Kashmir has suffered great loss from last 28 years and justice should be done now.

“Jammu and Kashmir has suffered a lot during these 28 years of our exodus. There has been death and destruction due to vested interests. What is more worse is the criminal silence of civil societies and intellectuals,” said Dr Mawa.

Dr Mawa said Prime Minister, Narender Modi cannot develop a strong nation by killing Kashmiris.

“Will PM do our development by killing our Kashmiri brothers. Let everyone understand that golden standard to resolve dispute is only through talks,” he said.

Stressing a peaceful resolution of Kashmir dispute, Dr Mawa said both India and Pakistan should hold talks to end the miseries of Kashmiri people.

“Killings cannot be the order of the day, this has to stop,” he added.

Some local Muslims too joined the hunger strike.

“Every day innocents are killed. Truth is denied. It is time when we all should unite to end the injustice happening in Kashmir,” said, a local, Nazir Ahmed.
