“We want justice, reject bail of accused,’’ shouted the protesting nomads who had assembled at Lal Chowk this afternoon to protest killing.

Pertinently Police arrested the youth for allegedly mowing down a flock of sheep and also seized his car; however he was later released on bail.

The accused Atif Farooq son of Farooq Ahmad Ahangar of Karan Nagar left around 26 sheep killed and injured scores others with his vehicle “Walkswogon Polo” bearing registration number HR- 02AG 2240, the protestors said.

Abdul Rashid Khattana a protester claimed that 28 more sheep injured in the incident died later while 90 others are undergoing treatment at present.  He said the accused does not deserve any concession for the inhuman act therefore his bail should be rejected.

Meanwhile a police official said they cannot arrest the accused who has been granted bail by the court, “there is absolutely no provision in the law to re-arrest the offender after bail. A formal case FIR No, 23/2019 under sections 429, 383, 501 stands registered against the accused at police station Kothibagh.”
