SRINAGAR: Divisional Commissioner Kashmir, Anshul Garg, along with Deputy Commissioner Srinagar, Akshay Labroo, on Thursday inaugurated the Centre of Excellence for e-Governance established by the District Administration Srinagar at the Regional Transport Office (RTO) Srinagar.
The Centre has been established to strengthen public service delivery, improve citizen convenience and provide efficient access to a wide range of government services through a single digital platform.
The inaugural ceremony was attended by Transport Commissioner Vishesh Paul Mahajan, RTO Kashmir Qazi Irfan, Additional Deputy Commissioner Srinagar Mir Imtiyaz-ul-Aziz, IAS Probationer Alfred Thomas, Chief Planning Officer Fayaz Ahmad Dar, SDM West Irfan Bahadur, ARTO Headquarters Mehnaz Chisti, District Coordinator CSC Asrar Shiraz, State Coordinator UIDAI Shoaib Ahmad and other officers of the District Administration, Common Services Centre (CSC) and the Regional Transport Office.
Inspecting the facility, the Divisional Commissioner appreciated the initiative taken by the District Administration Srinagar and emphasized the importance of leveraging digital platforms to improve accessibility, transparency and efficiency in public service delivery.
He said the Centre would function as a comprehensive one-stop digital hub, enabling citizens to access a variety of government schemes and transport-related services under one roof in a transparent, efficient and hassle-free manner.
Garg observed that such initiatives play a vital role in strengthening e-governance and ensuring greater convenience for the public by reducing procedural difficulties and improving service accessibility.
Speaking on the occasion, Deputy Commissioner Srinagar Akshay Labroo said the Centre of Excellence for e-Governance has been envisioned as a model facility for integrated public service delivery and digital empowerment of citizens. He noted that the facility assumes added significance as it has been established at the Regional Transport Office, which witnesses a large public footfall on a daily basis.
Earlier, the District Manager, CSC Srinagar, briefed the visiting officers about the services being provided through the Centre. He informed that dedicated counters have been established for Aadhaar-related services, Government-to-Citizen (G2C) services, transport-related services, banking services and insurance services.
The Centre is expected to facilitate quicker and more efficient delivery of essential services while promoting digital inclusion and citizen-centric governance in the district.
