Budgam, June 12: Kashmir Law Circle today held one-day conference cum awareness programme on women empowerment, child sex Abuse in Contrast with Present Scenario of Kashmir here.
The Round- Table conference was attended by 80 participants from different districts which include KAS officer, Doctors, Engineers, speakers, scholars and students.
President Kashmir Law Circle, Sajad Farooq Rather, started the proceeding of the conference. He spoke about female Harassment of various types and child sex abuse and the ways to eradicate it and fight against it through legal ways.
DySP Budgam, Feroz Yahya said that women should be brave enough to fight against any sort of violence against them. “They should raise their voice, we are always with them.”
The participants in the conference stressed upon more representation of women in legislatures and stern child abuse laws.
State Coordinator JK women help line (181) Bilal Bhat while giving details about the Women Helpline Service said it is an initiative of the Government to provide 24 hour-immediate responses to women affected by violence and represent them in front of appropriate authorities, including police and legal ones. He added that even women in distress can reach on the number who would be provided with immediate support.
The conference was concluded with the message that Public offices, private offices and police need reformation vis-a-vis Women and child issues.
