GDC Kargil launches preparatory classes for IAS, KAS examinations

KARGIL, MAY 31: With an objective to inculcate the spirit of competition among the students and youth of the district, Government Degree College Kargil has launched a Special Centre for Promotion of Competition here on Thursday.

The initiative has been taken with a view to provide a proper platform for aspirant students to prepare for national and state level civil services and other competitive examinations through a unique group learning approach. In the first phase, the centre has selected 28 candidates out of 90 aspirants through a screening test for intensive civil services coaching under Special-28 Civil Service Study Group.

The centre will offer guidance, classes and study material for general studies and interview component of the civil services examination to the selected aspirants.

Meanwhile, the preparatory classes were launched with a seven days orientation programme on different aspects of IAS/KAS examination to the selected students by involving civil service qualifiers and college faculty members. During the inaugural programme, the key note speaker and local civil services qualifier Razia Khatoon, Assistant Labour Commissioner Kargil shared her experiences of qualifying the civil services examination. Razia stressed upon the aspiring students to religiously follow their dreams for becoming a civil servant.
