Indumeet lashes out at regional, national political parties for ‘neglecting’ Kashmiri Sikhs

Srinagar: Kashmiri Sikh Community leader Indumeet Singh on Sunday lashed out at regional and central political parties for “neglecting” the demands of Sikh residents in Kashmir.

In a statement here Indumeet Singh said: “Since decades all the political parties neglected the genuine demands of Kashmiri Sikhs which is the reason of silent migration of Sikhs from Kashmir to other places.”

“I don’t know why these political parties after coming into power never bother about the Sikhs of Kashmir. Last time even PDP had mentioned in their manifesto that they will fulfill all the demands of Kashmiri Sikhs but after the formation of the government with BJP they forgot Kashmiri Sikhs and their manifesto. Both the parties never tried to address any of the demands of Kashmiri Sikhs,” Indumeet said.

“Due to this attitude of political parties Kashmiri Sikhs are facing a lot of problems and this in future could be one of the reasons that Kashmiri Sikhs will start resistance against them,” he said.

“I urge to the upcoming party whoever forms Government in Delhi that they should fulfill all the pending demands of Kashmiri Sikhs at priority basis, which include establishing a Punjabi department at Kashmir University, Special Job package for Kashmiri Sikhs, Minority status which is our right as in Kashmir we are in micro minority and most importantly a representation in assembly,” he added.
