Srinagar: Private Schools Association of Jammu and Kashmir (PSAJK) on Wednesday said that AICTE directive asking students from Jammu and Kashmir not to take admission in educational institutes in Pakistan Administered Kashmir (PaK) negates the basic principle of SAARC cooperation.

“India is part of SAARC group and all educational institutes in all the countries should be treated at par. One cannot pick and choose educational institutes in a particular region,” chairman PSAJK G N Var said in a press release.

The association said that besides impacting education to hundreds of students it will also have serious ramification in larger run.

“The SAARC group and all associated agreements have been honoured through many decades and hostile conditions including war and suddenly barring PaK educational institutes in PaK is beyond comprehension,” it said.

The association also called on the government to keep educations out of ambit of politics.

Mirwaiz condemns Govt’s directive asking students from JK not to take admission in PaK

Terms it as ‘unfortunate politicization of education’

Meanwhile, Hurriyat Conference (M) chairman Mirwaiz Mohammad Umar Farooq Wednesday condemned the Government’s directive asking students from J&K not to take admission in educational institutions in Pakistan Administered Kashmir and called it ‘unfortunate politicization of education’, which violates the fundamental right of students to seek education anywhere on the globe.

Besides, Mirwaiz said it has put the career of those studying there in jeopardy and uncertainty.
