ANANTNAG, MAY 10: The Returning Officer (RO) for Anantnag Parliamentary Constituency (PC) Khalid Jahangir today convened a meeting to review the arrangements put in place for counting of votes of Lok Sabha Elections 2019. The counting is scheduled to be held on 23rd of May 2019 and for Anantnag PC, counting centre have been established at GDC Boys Khannabal Anantnag.
In the meeting, the RO stated that deployment of manpower for counting should be made as per the ECI guidelines and laid thrust on imparting quality training to the counting staff. In addition, AROs were directed to personally monitor the training of counting staff.
The RO also stressed on framing a concrete plan to ensure un-interrupted power supply, telecommunication, effective Public Address System, proper seating arrangements, crowd management, media management, transport management and all other necessary facilities at the counting centre, so that counting process is conducted in a hassle free manner. He stressed for making full proof security arrangements and directed concerned officials to adhere to ECI directions and protocols while moving EVMs and VVPATs from strong room to counting halls.
It was given out in the meeting that no person will be allowed to enter into the premises of counting centre without valid ID proof. The RO directed that all arrangements must be made in advance. He urged upon the officers to work with added zeal and in complete synergy so that counting process is conducted in smooth, transparent and professional manner.
