In a statement issued here today, a Hurriyat spokesman said that since past eight years, Syed Ali Geelani has been barred from offering religious obligations.

Demanding impartial probe and stringent action against those accused in murder and rape of Kathua minor girl Asifa, the executive council blamed authorities for providing shield and lenient view for those involved in this heinous crime.

Paying tributes to youth slain in Shopian and other places, Huriyat said that despite all hardships our sacrifices would yield desired results and will see the dawn of freedom set in.

“We urge the International Community to take cognizance of the gross and systematic  violations of human rights taking place in Jammu and Kashmir and use its influence with India to bring an end to brutal killings and strangulating genuine voices,” the statement said.

Participants expressed deep grief over the demise of maternal aunt of Gh Ahmad Gulzar and extended condolences to grieved family.
