Kangan, Apr 01: A teenager died after accidentally slipping into a canal in Kangan area of central Kashmir’s Ganderbal district on Monday.
Reports said 16-years-old Tariq Ahmad Awan, son of Abdul Hamid Awan of Fraw-Gund Kangan drowned in a canal of Upper Sindh power project in Gund tehsil.
An official said that the body of Awan was retrieved after four hours of hectic efforts by the locals and the police.
He said that body was handed over to his family after completing medico-legal formalities at a local hospital in Kangan.
