ADC Kulgam kick starts mulberry plantation drive

KULGAM, MARCH 23: ADC Kulgam, Ghulam Hassan Shiekh today kick started a mulberry plantation drive in the district by planting mulberry saplings in the premises of Government Degree College Kulgam.

Principal Degree College Kulgam, Professors and Lecturers, District Sericulture Officer (DSO) Kulgam, and other staff members of Degree College and Sericulture department besides a large number of students were present on the occasion.

While speaking on the occasion, the ADC highlighted the importance of mulberry plants and urged everyone for massive plantation of these trees during this plantation season.

While giving details, DSO said that Sericulture Department has a target to plant 32000 mulberry trees this year in the district. He said the department is working to promote mulberry plantation on a massive scale. He appealed the people to come forward to help revive the Sericulture sector in the state.

DSO in the end extended his warm thanks to all who actively participated in the said plantation drive with the message that such programs will continue in future.
