GANDERBAL, MARCH 21: Directorate of School Education Kashmir (DSEK) in collaboration with Government Higher Secondary School Safapora today organized plantation drive here to celebrate World Arbour Day.

Director School Education Kashmir Mohammad Younis Malik was the chief guest and kicked-off the plantation drive by planting a confer sapling in the premises of the Higher Secondary School.

On the occasion, besides a large gathering of students, parents and teachers, Chief Education Officer Ganderbal Nahid Nelofer, DIET Principal Ganderbal, Principals, and ZEOs of the district were also present.

The Director said that children are the ambassadors of environmental protection. He said that the involvement of students in environmental preservation in present times is indispensable.

After inaugurating the plantation drive, Malik had a detailed interaction with the students of different educational institutions. The student delegates apprised the Director about various difficulties faced by them.

The Director issued on spot directions to concerned Heads of the Institutions to rectify the problems faced by the student community. He assured them that the Department is very serious to upgrade the infrastructure of the institutions so that every student gets a chance to get education in a conducive and student friendly environment.

He opined that teachers have a greater role in transforming the lives of the student and in this regard the Directorate is planning to encourage the dedicated teachers on the basis of academic performance.

The Director impressed upon the teachers to develop strong communication skills among the students. He said that communication is the key to explore different domains of knowledge.
