The protesting Anganwadi employees alleged that state government never pays any attention towards the problems being faced by them.

Talking to media, Pesident Anganwadi Workers and Helpers Association Kashmir, Tasleema Bano said the government is yet to release state share of rupees 500 to workers and rupees 360 to helpers.

She said the government always forces them to take to the roads to press for their demands be it their salary or any other issue confronting them.

“Government announced state share of rupees 500 in favor of Anganwadi workers and rupees 360 for helpers in August last year, however not a single penny has been released ever since the announcement was made,” she added.

She demanded that government should ensure early release of their share failing which they will hit streets in protest.

“On one hand they announce schemes for employees and on the other hand force them to hit streets to get their problems addressed. Don’t the higher-ups sitting at helm of affairs feel ashamed to make females to come on roads?” she questioned.
