DEO Kupwara reviews connectivity to snowbound areas

KUPWARA, MARCH 18: District Election Officer (DEO) Anshul Garg today chaired a meeting to review status of    connectivity to snowbound areas and restoration work to facilitate to facilitate election activities and dispatch of Election Material etc for smooth conduct of General Elections-2019.

The meeting was attended by Assistant Commissioner Revenue Bashir Ahmad, SSP Kupwara, SDM Karnah, Executive Engineer, R&B, PMGSY Division Kupwara, Concerned Tehsildars and representatives of other departments.

Sub-Divisional Magistrate Karnah Dr. Aliyas Ahmad briefed District Election Officer about the present status of roads including Kupwara – Tangdar road, Kupwara- Keran Road, Kupwara – Machil Road and other roads, connecting district headquarters with far-flung areas of Kupwara.

The DEO directed that SDM Karnah along with concerned Tehsildars   will monitor the process of the road clearance and will furnish daily report to the DEO office.

He also directed the concerned authorities to keep the general public about the traffic movement on Tangdar and other roads, so that no one gets stuck on the road due to misconception. He also directed the concerned authorities to put all the essential commodities available in far-flung areas.

He further stressed upon all concerned officers to gear up their field functionaries for the effective implementation of directions passed by him during the meeting.
