“It was the party’s moral responsibility to withdraw support to PDP when media men were attacked, policemen were lynched to death and human rights violation reached to its peak in the state,” said Khanna while talking to media on the sidelines of BJP convention in Srinagar.

The BJP leader said the combine government had miserably failed to protect people in the state which eventually led to the collapse.

Khanna said BJP had formed the government under Common Minimum Program with its former ally PDP in 2015.

“As all of you know it was the coalition of two ideologies under common minimum program which enjoyed full support from the centre. However we withdraw support to PDP under compelling circumstances when we observed that government has failed to protect people,” he added.

He also criticized National Conference President, Dr Farooq Abdullah for mocking at IAF air strike on Pakistan saying every political party across India appreciated the move except Farooq Abdullah.

“Every political party and individual in one voice appreciated India’s air strike on Pakistan but the way NC President Dr Farooq Abdullah mocked it. It is quite unfortunate and condemnable,” said Khanna.
