Police Public meeting held at Police Station Nowgam

Srinagar, March 09: A PCPG (Police Community Partnership Group) meeting was held at police station Nowgam today.

A police spokesman in a statement said that with an aim to strengthen relations with pubic and also to establish first hand contact with masses, Police station Nowgam  convened a public interaction meeting in which  traders and   respectable citizens of Nowgam, B. K. Pora, Puhroo and adjacent areas participated.

The meeting was chaired by SDPO Pantha Chowk Mir  Ejaz accompanied by SHO Nowgam SI Syed Showkat Ahmed.

In the meeting many issues were discussed especially issues related to drug abuse, poor drainage system in the area, tenant verification and keeping check on the ruffians and anti-social elements. It was impressed upon all participants to play a vital role in keeping youth away from menace of stone pelting and drug abuse. They were apprised of their duties as respectable citizens  to counter any design of anti-social elements inimical to peace and tranquility in the area.

Referring to the issues highlighted by the participants  SDPO Pantha Chowk and SHO Nowgam assured them that issues  pertaining to police will be solved in shortest possible time and the rest will be taken up with the civil administration for their redressal on priority. He further sought the cooperation of the participants in fighting social crimes.
