Pakistan-India: Chasing a mirage of victory!
FacebookTwitterWhatsapp

Islamabad: Pakistan Foreign Minister Shah Mahmood Qureshi today said that Pakistan Prime Minister Imran Khan was ready to talk to Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi over the telephone to offer him peace and questioned that was ‘Modi ready for it.’

In an interview with Geo News, Qureshi said: “We are ready for every eventuality. If they give priority to peace, we are ready for peace. If they prioritise dialogue, we are ready for dialogue.” The foreign minister also confirmed the receipt of India’s dossier on the Pulwama attack. “Let’s talk together on the basis of the dossier,” he continued. “I am ready to talk. You want to talk about terrorism, I am ready. You want to talk about peace, I am ready. You want to make it a common challenge, I am ready.”

Qureshi has made it clear that all he said about the repatriation of Indian Air Force (IAF) pilot Abhinandan Varthaman was that “it could be a positive step and could be considered”.

Qureshi said that Pakistan welcomes US President Donald Trump’s statement.

He confirmed that the Saudi foreign minister is coming to Pakistan today with an important message from Crown Prince Mohammad bin Salman.

“I spoke to the Saudi foreign minister last night. He expressed his desire to visit Pakistan, which I welcomed,” he said.
