The University of Kashmir has secured 47th position among universities assessed in the National Institutional Ranking Framework 2018, according to the results announced by MHRD .It also has been awarded grade “A” university by the NAAC in 2011. The University has grown into one of the largest universities with 12 faculties, 47 academic departments, 21 centers, 36 colleges and six privately managed recognized institutes spread all over the state.
Almost every U.G student of Kashmir University resents the University’s system of holding up exams and delays in results. The institution has failed to manage the CBSC system properly, some students claim adding that while they are already in the 2nd semester when the university is yet to conduct the exams of 1st semester of some subjects. In addition, the students of 3rd semester also claim that they have been appearing for exams without knowing the results of 1st and 2nd semester- a strange chronological confusion that the University administration is utterly overlooking.
Meanwhile discussing with students of Under Graduate (UG) courses, about their future plans, one comes to realize that they are quite confused and are totally against the CBCS system as the University has been delaying everything- whether exams or results!
Beside, the students of U.G 5th semester are also left in doldrums who allege University authorities of wasting their precious time stating that while they had taken admission in 2016 and ironically their graduation is still incomplete.
Moreover looking towards Cluster University of Srinagar, the batch 2017 (the first batch of cluster university) UG students are about to complete 4th semester by ending march 2019 and also the cluster university of Srinagar is going to conduct exams of U.G 2nd semester batch 2018 from 15th February. While as the UG students of batch 2017 are still busy with exams of 3rd semester ending in January.
Also the said university had announced the results of 1st and 2nd semester separately and most of the students are of the opinion that the University should reform its system so that they will not face any problems in future.
