Shopian, DEC 10: Despite all odds and chilling cold Mehjoor Junior Hockey Tournament concluded in Shopian district on Sunday where a number of young under-19 and under-17 hockey players participated.
The tournament, organized by J&K Hockey Association under sponsorship of state sports council J&K and supported by Shopian Hockey Club, was played at a local playground in Chermarg village of Shopian district.
The finals of Mehjoor Junior Hockey Tournament was won by GMS Hockey team by 5-3 after defeating Mehjoor Hockey Club the tournament was organized by J&K Hockey association.
Hockey players of Shopian Hockey club said: “It is not just all about playing the game but our aim is to promote game of hockey in the state of Jammu and Kashmir and to start with we have facilitated the emergence of a U-17 hockey team in the Shopian district.”
