JAMMU, NOVEMBER 29: Secretary, Social Welfare Department and State Mission Director, ICDS, Farooq Ahmad Lone convened a review meeting with the District Programme Officers/Child Development Project Officers (ICDS) of Leh and Kargil ditricts.

The Secretary reviewed the status of various schemes of ICDS, Social Welfare Department including CSS and implementation of Pradhan Mantri Matru Vadana Yojana (PMMVY), SAG and Poshan Abhiyaan.

Secretary stressed on the need for an integrated approach for effective implementation of various schemes of the deprtment so that maximum people are benefitted. He directed for follow up action so as to ensure implementation of the schemes at grass root level. He asked the concerned for ensuring availability of net facilities to far-flung projects of Leh and Kargil with directions to District Programme Officers of ICDS Projects of Leh and Kargil to oversee the process in this regard.

Lone further added that in order to address the issue of malnutrition at an early age, it is necessary to create a mass movement to generate awareness besides procurement/providing of necessary instruments/infrastructure on the basis of parameters contained in the Scheme.
