Seerat conference cum Eid Milad-e-Nabi (SAW) celebrated in Baramulla

Baramulla, Nov 24: Highlighting role of teachings of Prophet Mohammad (SAW) in maintenance of peace and harmony in entire universe, a day-long Seerat Conference cum Eid-i-Milad Nabi (SAW) celebration marking birth anniversary of Prophet Mohammad (SAW) was organized by Army’s Dagger Division in collaboration with Global Youth Foundation (GYF), Kashmir at Sherwani Hall Baramulla on Saturday.

In a joint statement issued here, Army’s Dagger Division and Global Youth Foundation said: “The Seerat conference drew enthusiastic participation from youth and focused on the Islamic teachings by scholars and importance of imbibing highest human virtues in life. The event also showcased cultural traditions of Islam, Naat Sharief by students and Qawwali, highlighting essence of the Islamic culture.”

“Speaking the message of peace, Eid-e-Milad Nabi (SAW) celebration, marking birth anniversary of Prophet Mohammad ([PBUH), brings a message of joy, peace and compassion. It is an occasion to celebrate the spirit and essence of religion which promotes a life of harmony, discipline and compassion and denounces violence. True to the spirit of the event, Awam and Dagger Division celebrated the pious occasion together, understanding the teachings of Quran and its adoption in our lives with correct interpretation,” reads the statement.

“The conference graced by Major General Gulab Singh Rawat, General Officer Commanding, Dagger Division, Commander, Dagger Artillery Brigade, Commander Mountain Brigade, former MLA Javid Hussan Beigh,  District Commissioner, Baramulla and SSP Baramulla besides people from civil society, intelligentsia, Youth and Awam,” it said.

“Speaking on the occasion, General Officer Commanding Major General GS Rawat conveyed his best wishes to everyone present and impressed that besides hard work, discipline and compassion which are hallmarks of the religion, education has a significant role to progress on the path of peace, prosperity and development,” it reads.

“The GOC assured everyone that Dagger Division is committed as ever towards betterment of society and enlightenment of Awam and will continue to extend all support to the Awam. The event was yet another milestone highlighting the bonhomie, trust and mutual respect shared between Dagger Division and Awam,” it added.
