TeH leaders participate in funeral prayers of Mir Hafizullah

Srinagar, Nov 20: A delegation of Tehreek-e-Hurriyat leaders headed by General Secretary Ameer Hamzah Shah on Tuesday participated in funeral prayers of Mir Hafizullah

According to a statement issued here, a delegation of Tehreek-e-Hurriyat leaders headed by General Secretary Ameer Hamzah Shah and accompanied by  Mohammad Rafiq Owaisi , Shakeel Ahmed Itoo, Zahoor UL Haq Geelani, Ishfaq Ahmed Khan Rameez Raja, Sabzaar Ahmed,Mohd Shafi Khan, Mohd Yousuf Makroo, Bilal Ahmed Mir, Fayaz Ahmed Das, Mohd Shafiq Wagay, Riyaz Ahmed and many other activists participated in funeral prayers of Mir Hafizullah and shared grief and deepest sorrow solidarity and prayed for departed noble soul.

“Tehreek-e-Hurriyat General Secretary Ameer Hamzah while addressing the mourners said, Mir Hafiz Ullah was a true soldier of freedom strugglea nd a responsible leader of Tehreek-e-Hurriyat.  Anti-freedom forces are making plots to create confusion and the murder of Mir Hafizullah is part of this conspiracy,” reads the statement.

“The exemplary role played by the Mir Hafizullah sahib for the last three decades for kashmir cause or so while remaining very close to the public, has acted as an irritant for the Indian agencies. His death is a Great loss not only for the Tehreek-e-hurriyat but for the ongoing freedom struggle. The pro-freedom leadership had already expressed fears that its leadership might be targeted in the Valley,” the statement quoted Hamzah as saying.

“In his address The Tehreek-e-Hurriyat General secretary said that the the Mir Hafiz Ullah had played a very important role during the 2016 uprising due to which he was sent to jail and was released four months ago only. He said that the purpose of his killing was to frighten the freedom-loving people and to make them into submission,” said the TeH statement.

“He said the Mir Hafizullah jailed under Public Safety Act many times and frequently threatened of dire consequences for his inflamed oratory, philanthropic dreams and aspirations, noble character and an unwavering commitment for the ongoing movement for right to self-determination. He was released from a jail recently after 24 months of incarceration. He was a senior political, social and religious figure and has spent around almost seven years of life in jail,” it added.
