DC Budgam takes stock of Milad arrangements at Ziyarat Sharif Makhama

BUDGAM, NOVEMBER 19: The Deputy Commissioner Budgam, Dr Syed Sehrish Asgar today visited Peth Maqhama Shrine to take stock of arrangements being put in place for the smooth conduct of Eid Milad-un- Nabi (S.A.W) celebrations.

She was accompanied by SDM Beerwah, concerned Officers of PHE, Health, CAPD, R&B, RDD, PDD, fire and emergency, municipality, Tehsildar Magam and other concerned.

During the visit many demands and issues were raised by locals relating to fencing of Shrine premises, repair of foot paths, scarcity of drinking water, improvement of transmission lines, installation of requisite number of electricity polls, renovation of shrine, deployment of fire and emergency tenders, medical facility, separate accommodation for woman devotees, repair of defunct street lights etc.

Reacting to the demands, the DC said all necessary arrangements will be put in place proactively by all the departments. She assured the locals that uninterrupted power supply will be made available during auspicious the days, generators will be kept available at the shrine to avoid any unprecedented disruption. On the occasion Xen PDD was directed to repair all defunct street lights at the earliest.

Regarding renovation and demand for construction of separate accommodation for women devotees, the DC assured that the matter will be taken up with Waqf Board for an early action. She also directed concerned Officer of RDD department to initiate work on land leveling, land improvement in the Shrine premises expeditiously.

Regarding drinking water the PHE department was directed to ensure adequate water supply. Similarly R&B department was directed to repair roads leading to the Shrine for the convenience of devotees. Accordingly fire and emergency department will keep a fire tender available round the clock to negotiate any exigency.  She said a medical ambulance equipped with trained staff and all facilities of first aid will remain stationed at the Shrine during requisite period.

On sanitation and cleanliness the DDC directed Executive Officer Magam to ensure regular lifting of garbage and proper cleanliness inside and around the shrine premises.
