Srinagar, Feb 25 : A policemen, guarding residence of Hurriyat Conference (M) leader, was killed after militant attacked him and decamped with his service rifle at Soura in outskirts of Srinagar. This is the second attack after a policeman guarding famous shrine at Charar-e-Sherief was killed.
Official sources said the militants attacked the police guard, Farooq Ahmad Yatoo of Chadoora Budgam, at residence of Hurriyat leader Fazal Haq Qureshi at Bilal Colony Soura in Srinagar here. He was shifted in critical condition to SKIMS Soura where he succumbed to injuries. Militants also decamped with the service rifle of the policeman.
SSP Imtiyaz Ismail Parray confirmed to GNS the incident and said that investigations have been taken up. Qureshi survived a severe attack at his residence in December 2009.
