Srinagar: A group of IPS officers on a tour to valley interacted with IGP Kashmir Zone S.P Pani on Wednesday here.
The meeting was attended by DIG CKR, SSP Budgam, SSP Srinagar and SSP PCR Kashmir.
At the meeting, SSP PCR presented a detailed overview about the functioning and working of police in Kashmir valley. In his presentation, he acquainted the touring officers about the evolution and history of police and current strategies in vogue for countering the challenges faced by police. Besides he also briefed the officers about the core policing areas in valley.
DIG CKR while interacting with the visiting officers emphasized on the importance of espirit-de-corps in the organizational hierarchy for combating violence and terrorism. He also explained the need for adopting variance in responses for countering situational emergencies and L&O in the valley.
IGP Kashmir while responding to the queries raised by the officers explained the various modernization and welfare schemes adopted by J&K Police. Besides, he also threw some light on the existing SOPs followed by the ground forces while carrying out their duties in the field. In the end IGP emphasized on the importance of coordination among different forces for their successes in the valley and also highlighted contribution made by J&K Police towards the welfare and betterment of society.
