The representatives of livestock farmers, dairy farmers, poultry farmers and sheep breeders were also present in the meeting.

On the occasion, farmers informed the Principal Secretary that there is a shortage of various drugs and vaccines in the animal and sheep husbandry department, due to which they have to buy those medicines from the private sellers at higher rates.

Asserting that the main aim of the department is the welfare of the farmers, Dr Samoon directed the officials to keep eye on the quality of medicines while directed them to distribute the drugs and vaccine to the farmers after the proper lab testing.

During the meeting, threadbare discussions were held on drug procurement process and directions were passed to form a mechanism which will lead to greater transparency as far as the quality of the drugs and vaccines is concerned.
