Govt announces one month additional salary for employees on poll duty

Srinagar: The state government on Tuesday announced one month additional salary to all the government employees who will be on poll duty.

The announcement was made by Chief Secretary V R Subrahmanyam on Tuesday during a news conference here.

He said the employees who will perform poll duty will get additional one month salary.

The Chief Secretary also said that adequate security will be given to all those candidates who will contest the upcoming polls

He said that 300 hotel rooms have been booked in Srinagar for candidates and similar arrangements made in south and north Kashmir.

For SPOs, the government is going to make a substantial hike to their salaries in next few days, he said.

“The resignations compared to total number of SPOs who are above 30,000 is negligible” he added
