Sopore: A nocturnal gunfight broke out between militants and government forces in Tujjer area of north Kashmir’s Baramulla district on late Monday evening.
Speaking to Kashmir Images Senior Superintendent of Police Sopore, Javaid Iqbal, said, “on specific inputs forces launched a search operation in Tujjar village and when forces approached towards suspected house, meanwhile the hiding militants opened indiscriminate fire on forces.
“After initial firing no contact was established between militants and forces while searches is on to find them ,” officer added.
Authorities have decided to close all educational institutions in Sopore, while internet services in Zainagir and Sopore remain suspended.
