55 sheep, goats charred alive in fire at Lolab

Srinagar, Feb 23 : At least 55 animals were charred to death after a cowshed gutted completely in a devastating fire at Khurhama area of Lolab in north Kashmir’s Kupwara district, last night.
The cowshed caught fire during last midnight. 55 sheep and goats were charred alive in the fire incident and entire cow shed was gutted.
The cowshed belonged to Abdul Hameed Mugal, a resident of Shrant Doban Khurhama.
Station House Officer, Kuligam, Mohd Rafiq confirmed the incident and said that the cause of the fire was being ascertained.
“A case has been registered and further investigations in this regard taken up,” he said.
