Srinagar, Sep 14: Many graduate students of Kashmir University (KU) who have been selected for Master’s programme in Jamia Milia Islamia are not able to finalize their admission because the varsity authorities here have failed to provide them necessary documents needed for the admission process.

“I qualified the entrance test for Master’s degree in Jamia Millia Islamia (JMI), Delhi, and completed my admission process in the month of July. The JMI university has given me deadline  of September 15 to submit my details including the result of last two semesters of my graduation and the migration, both of which the KU failed to provide,” rues Shahid Khan, a student of Political Science.

Pertinently, like Khan many other students have turned in an affidavit at JMI pledging that in case they failed to submit their documents on time, their admission stands cancelled.

Another student of 2015 batch of KU, admitted provisionally in JMI, is facing the similar problems.

“KU is playing with our career. The slow process of providing documents can really be a blow to our careers,” said the student adding that there are many other students suffering because of the administrative inertia at the Kashmir University.

When contacted, KU’s Dean Academics Affairs, Musadiq Sahaf refused to comment on the issue.
