CB lodges FIR against bank fraudster, cheaters

SRINAGAR, SEPTEMBER 07: Crime Branch Kashmir today filed an FIR against a person for cheating the JK Bank by producing forged documents to get a loan.

Giving details, a Crime Branch spokesperson said it received a complaint from J&K Bank’s Nowhatta  Business Unit alleging that one Tasaduq Khaliq Mir of M/S Fashion Crap, availed Cash Credit Loan facility of Rs 10 lakh for his wholesale and retail trade of clothes and also availed a Cash Credit Loan facility of Rs 21 lakh from the J&K Bank Business Unit Ganderbal.

These loans were granted against mortgage of a three-storied residential house along with land underneath measuring 01 Kanal 03 Marlas situated at Mouza Buchpora, Srinagar. After completing all legal formalities the sanctioned amount was disbursed in favour of Mir.

However, as Mir turned a defaulter and failed to repay the loans, it was classified as a non-performing asset in September 2013. The present balance outstanding in the said loan account is Rs 54.10 lakh.

Spokesperson said Mir has also availed a credit card facility of Rs 0.50 lakh from Business Unit Ganderbal, which at present has a balance outstanding at Rs 4.41 lakh.

The bank authorities while trying to recover outstanding loan from Mir came to know that the three-storied residential house along with land underneath, mortgaged to the bank, was not recorded in his name.

The accused Tasaduq Khaliq Mir, son of Abdul Khaliq Mir, resident of Illahi Bagh 90 feet Road Srinagar, has thus cheated the J&K Bank dishonestly and fraudulently on the basis of forged revenue documents in league with the concerned revenue officials “who by abuse of their official position paved way for such cheating to cause wrongful gain upon himself against a corresponding loss to the J&K Bank Business Units Nowhatta Srinagar and Ganderbal,” spokesperson said.

He said a case (FIR no. 39/2018) under section 420, 467, 468, 471,120-B RPC r/w 5(2) PC Act has been registered against Tasaduq Khaliq Mir and further investigation has been taken up.
