Srinagar, Sep 05: Motorcyclists without helmets will not be able to buy petrol at filling stations in Srinagar.
An order issued here by District Commissioner Srinagar, Syed Abid Rasheed Shah said the large number of road accidents have been reported involving two wheelers in Srinagar city.
He directed all petrol pump owners operating in the territorial jurisdiction of the district Srinagar to not provide fuel to the two-wheelers who are without helmets.
“Any petrol pump owner found violating these orders shall be liable for punishment under relevant provisions of law,” the order read.
The Deputy Commissioner also asked SSP Traffic City and SSP Traffic Rural to ensure implementation of the order in “letter and spirit.”
