RAJOURI: A government teacher and his son were killed and another person injured after a vehicle skidded off the road and plunged into a gorge in Rajouri district on Saturday, officials said.
They were travelling in a goods carrier and the accident took place at Jaglanoo in Kandi area of Kotranka subdivision, the officials said.
The deceased were identified as Mohammad Amin, a government teacher, and his son Mohammad Ishaq, while the driver was rescued in an injured condition and shifted to hospital.
In another road accident, seven persons were injured after a bus and a truck collided head-on in the Sandbari area of Samba district on Saturday, officials said.
They said local residents rushed to the spot and helped evacuate the injured passengers from the bus.
“The injured were shifted to District Hospital Samba for treatment, while their identities are being ascertained,” the official said.
Police have registered a case and further proceedings are underway.
