At Lal Chowk, he directed officials to ensure regular maintenance and timely repairs of streetlights, illumination systems and façade lighting. At the mechanised parking facility, officials were asked to repair and restore the high-mast lighting system.

During the inspection at Sheikh Bagh, Qayoom directed officials to restore and maintain the community sanitary complex near the car parking facility and expedite completion of the public convenience facility on the first floor to make it operational for public use.

He also asked officials to examine the feasibility of an alternative access route to the Sheikh Bagh car parking facility to streamline vehicular movement and ease congestion.

The CEO directed the concerned departments to prioritise pending repairs, complete outstanding works and conduct regular field inspections to identify and address maintenance issues. He also called for preventive maintenance and monitoring of corrective works to ensure public facilities remain functional and accessible.

The inspection was attended by the SSCL chief engineer, the Superintending Engineer of the Drainage Circle of Srinagar Municipal Corporation (SMC), the SSCL executive engineer and other officials of SMC and SSCL.
