Bandipora: Jammu and Kashmir Police seized six heavy logs of Kail wood (blue pine) allegedly concealed at a residential premises in Samthan Dardpora in Bandipora district and arrested a man in connection with the case, police said on Tuesday.
Acting on information, a police team from Police Post Sumlar searched the premises of Nazir Ahmad Lone, son of Gh. Qadir Lone, a resident of Upper Mohalla Samthan Dardpora, and recovered the timber logs, according to police.
The logs were seized and Lone was arrested after completion of legal formalities in the presence of independent witnesses.
Police have registered FIR No. 166/2026 under relevant sections of law at Police Station Bandipora. Further investigation is underway to establish the circumstances surrounding the alleged illegal possession of timber.
