KUPWARA: A man was killed, and two others were injured after a tractor fell into a deep gorge at Manchatter in Kralpora area of Kupwara district on Monday, officials said.

Officials said the tractor was travelling from Manchatter when it skidded off the road and plunged into a gorge, injuring all three occupants.

The injured were initially shifted to Sub-District Hospital (SDH) Kralpora for treatment. One of them was later referred to Government Medical College (GMC) Handwara, where doctors declared him dead on arrival.

The deceased was identified as Tahir Ahmad Dar, son of Abdul Ahad Dar, a resident of Kralpora.

The injured were identified as Ghulam Qadir Ganie, son of Mohammad Sidiq Ganie, and Ghulam Qadir Ganie, son of Abdul Rahim Ganie, both residents of Manchatter.

Police have registered a case and started an investigation into the accident.
