SRINAGAR: A 32-year-old man was injured after being attacked by a bear while working in a paddy field in the Dara area of Harwan on the outskirts of Srinagar on Monday, officials said.
According to officials, the incident occurred at Dara Dard Khore when the bear attacked the man during farm work.
The injured man was shifted to a hospital, where his condition was stated to be stable.
He was identified as Liyaqat Ahmad Kuli, son of Mohammad Yaqoob Kuli, a resident of Dara, Harwan.
Officials said the incident has been taken note of, while local residents have urged the authorities to take measures to prevent further wildlife attacks in the area.
