SRINAGAR: The District Srinagar Squash Championship concluded at the Squash Complex, Gindun Stadium, Rajbagh, on Friday, with 88 players competing across multiple age-group and senior categories.
The championship was organised by the District Srinagar Squash Rackets Association under the aegis of the Jammu and Kashmir Squash Rackets Association and sponsored by the Jammu and Kashmir Sports Council.
According to organisers, participants from clubs, colleges and schools competed in Under-11, Under-13, Under-15, Under-17 and Under-19 boys’ and girls’ categories, besides senior men’s and women’s events.
Manager Gindun Sports Centre, Jammu and Kashmir Sports Council, Dilbagh Singh attended the closing ceremony as chief guest, while squash player and businessman Adil Rafiq was the guest of honour.
Speaking at the event, Singh congratulated the organisers on conducting the championship and acknowledged the contributions of athletes, technical officials, support staff and media personnel to the successful conduct of the tournament.
Medals and trophies were distributed among winners and runners-up in various categories during the closing ceremony.
The championship was sponsored by the Jammu and Kashmir Sports Council and held at the squash facility at Gindun Stadium, Rajbagh.
