Srinagar: Director General of Police (DGP) Nalin Prabhat on Thursday reviewed the security situation in Kashmir and stressed the need for enhanced vigilance, technology-enabled policing and continuous professional development of police personnel.
The review meeting was held at the Police Control Room (PCR) Kashmir and focused on strengthening police capabilities and operational preparedness.
The meeting was attended by Inspector General of Police (IGP) Kashmir Sujit Kumar, DIG Central Kashmir Range, SSP PCR Kashmir, SSP Srinagar, SP Cargo and other officers, while DIGs of North and South Kashmir ranges and district SSPs participated through video conferencing.
Senior officers briefed the DGP on the prevailing security situation, operational preparedness and other key developments. They also apprised him of various initiatives and training programmes aimed at enhancing professional skills, operational readiness and specialised expertise of police personnel.
Prabhat emphasised the importance of sustained vigilance, proactive policing, close coordination and timely sharing of actionable intelligence to strengthen field-level preparedness.
He also underscored the need for regular, specialised and need-based training, with particular focus on modern and technology-driven policing methods. The DGP directed officers to ensure continuous opportunities for professional development and capacity building of personnel.
The meeting concluded with directions to maintain focus on professional preparedness and ensure that police personnel remain equipped to meet evolving operational and security challenges.
