GANDERBAL: BJP Jammu and Kashmir president and Rajya Sabha MP Sat Sharma on Monday said young people would play a crucial role in India’s development journey as he attended a painting competition themed “Mere Sapno Ka Bharat” at Vijay Memorial School in Ganderbal.
The event, organised under the BJP’s month-long Seva Sankalp Abhiyan, brought together students who showcased their ideas and aspirations for the country’s future through paintings.
Sharma felicitated the participating students, distributed certificates and interacted with them, encouraging them to pursue their aspirations with dedication, creativity and a strong sense of responsibility towards society.
Addressing the gathering, Sharma said initiatives such as “Mere Sapno Ka Bharat” provided children with a platform to express their vision for India and helped connect young minds with the values of service and nation-building.
He said the Sewa Sankalp Abhiyan sought to take the message of public service beyond political programmes and into schools, communities and among the younger generation. Referring to the Centre’s initiatives in education, infrastructure, technology, connectivity and youth development, Sharma said the aspirations and ideas of young Indians would play an important role in shaping the country’s future.
He also referred to Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s vision of Viksit Bharat @2047 and said youth participation would be essential in achieving that goal.
Dr Shehnaz Ganai, BJP vice-president, said creative activities help build confidence among students and encourage them to think positively about society and the nation.
BJP general secretary Mohammad Anwar Khan said the party was taking its message of service to different sections of society with special emphasis on youth participation.
Gopal Mahajan, BJP general secretary and J&K in-charge of the Seva Sankalp Abhiyan, said service-oriented programmes were being organised across Jammu and Kashmir as part of the campaign, which is being observed from September 17 to October 17.
District president Ganderbal Ghulam Hassan said the enthusiastic participation of students reflected their creativity, aspirations and growing awareness of their responsibilities towards the nation.
The event was attended by Dr Shehnaz Ganai, Mohammad Anwar Khan, Gopal Mahajan, Arif Raja, Ghulam Hassan and other BJP leaders.
