SRINAGAR: Police in Anantnag have booked a “notorious” drug peddler, Mushtaq Ahmad Wani of Panzgam Kokernag, under the Prevention of Illicit Traffic in Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (PIT-NDPS) Act.
The accused has been identified as a “repeated drug offender involved in activities related to the illicit trafficking of narcotic substances”. In view of his continued involvement in drug-related activities and to prevent further illicit trafficking, the competent authority ordered his detention under the PIT-NDPS Act, a police spokesperson informed.
He said following the detention order, Wani has been lodged in Central Jail Kotbhalwal Jammu as per law.
