JAMMU: Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha on Saturday held a series of meetings with Union Minister of State for Coal and Mines Satish Chandra Dubey, representatives of social, religious and business organisations, and political leaders at Raj Bhavan here.
Union Minister Satish Chandra Dubey called on the Lieutenant Governor during the day.
Chairman of Pandit Prem Nath Shastri Sanskritik Shodh Sansthan, Pt Omkar Nath Shastri, also met the Lieutenant Governor. He was accompanied by Prof B.L. Zutshi, President of Hindu Education Society Kashmir, and Pt Autar Shastri, organiser of Vijeshwar Panchang.
A delegation of FICCI FLO J&K and Ladakh, led by Chairperson Varsha Bansal and Senior Vice Chairperson Rupika Sahai, briefed the Lieutenant Governor about the organisation’s upcoming initiatives focused on women empowerment and entrepreneurship.
Swami Hridayanand Giri Ji Maharaj also called on the Lieutenant Governor and informed him about the proposed Amba Yagya, scheduled to be held at the Tawi River Front in Jammu from February 6 to 15, 2027.
According to the organisers, the event will feature 51 Havan Kunds across 10 Mahavidya forms, participation of 11,000 women in a Kalash Yatra, Navarna Mantra Jaap, Deepak Prajwalan, Shrimad Devi Bhagwat Katha, Kanya Pujan, Suhagan Pujan, Batuk Pujan and daily cultural programmes. The Lieutenant Governor assured support for the successful conduct of the event.
Rajesh Gupta, President of Vishwa Hindu Parishad (VHP), J&K, and Shakti Dutt Sharma, Vice President, VHP J&K, were also present during the meeting.
Another delegation comprising Pawan Kumar Shastri, President of Jammu Yatri Bhawan Trust; Raj Kumar Gupta, President of Jammu Kashmir Gau-Raksha Samiti; Anil Gupta, Senior Vice President of Jammu Chamber of Commerce; and social worker Raman Gupta met the Lieutenant Governor and raised issues related to strengthening direct rail connectivity between Jammu and Uttarakhand and promotion of religious tourism in the region.
Former minister and J&K Pradesh Congress Committee Working President Raman Bhalla also called on the Lieutenant Governor during the day.
