RAEBARELI: Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha on Wednesday attended a Shri Shiv Mahapuran Katha programme in Raebareli, where he addressed a gathering and spoke on themes of spirituality, social harmony and national unity.
The event was held in the presence of spiritual preacher Pandit Pradeep Mishra. Sinha also thanked Uttar Pradesh minister Manoj Kumar Pandey for organising the programme.
Addressing the gathering, the Lieutenant Governor described the teachings associated with Lord Shiva as a source of spiritual guidance and said spiritual gatherings help strengthen social and moral values.
Referring to the concept of Vasudhaiva Kutumbakam (“the world is one family”), Sinha said India’s traditional philosophy of universal welfare and harmony was gaining wider global recognition. He also referred to the recent BRICS Summit, stating that the idea of global cooperation and peaceful coexistence reflected principles long associated with Indian thought.
The Lieutenant Governor called for maintaining social unity and harmony and urged people to remain vigilant against divisive tendencies. He said India’s cultural traditions promote diversity, coexistence and collective welfare.
Sinha also emphasised the role of spiritual leaders and social reformers in contributing to the country’s development and said their guidance could help strengthen social cohesion and public welfare.
He expressed confidence that national unity and collective efforts would contribute to India’s progress and development in the years ahead.
