SRINAGAR: Ansari Tigers emerged winners of a volleyball tournament organised by the 132 Battalion of the Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) under the Civic Action Programme 2025-26 in Srinagar.
The three-day tournament was held at the volleyball court of the 132 Battalion CRPF campus at Nedous Hotel, Srinagar, from September 14 to 16. A total of eight teams participated in the knockout-format competition.
In the final played on Wednesday, Ansari Tigers defeated Sangam Spikers to clinch the title. Mobin Ahmad of Ansari Tigers was adjudged the best player of the tournament.
According to CRPF officials, the winning team received a cash prize of Rs 10,000 along with a trophy and certificates, while runners-up Sangam Spikers were awarded Rs 7,000, a trophy and certificates. The best player award carried a cash prize of Rs 1,500 along with a trophy and certificate.
The closing ceremony was attended by Commandant of 132 Battalion CRPF W.R. Josuah, officers and personnel of the battalion, participating teams and local residents from the M.A. Road area of Srinagar.
Players from both finalist teams thanked the CRPF for organising the tournament under its Civic Action Programme, officials said.
