GANDERBAL: The District Level Review Committee (DLRC) and District Level Consultative Committee (DCC) on Monday reviewed the performance of banks and implementation of the Annual Credit Plan (ACP) in Ganderbal district for the quarter ending June 2026.
The meeting, chaired by Deputy Commissioner Ganderbal Jatin Kishore, assessed bank-wise performance in deposits, advances and credit flow. Officials informed the meeting that the district’s overall Credit-Deposit Ratio (CDR) stood at 94.29 per cent.
The Deputy Commissioner directed banks to increase lending to the agriculture sector and ensure timely financial assistance to farmers and other eligible beneficiaries. He also asked banking institutions to improve credit delivery mechanisms and expedite the disposal of loan applications.
Progress under various government schemes, including the Kisan Credit Card (KCC) programme, Pradhan Mantri Formalisation of Micro Food Processing Enterprises (PMFME) Scheme, PM Surya Ghar and Mission YUVA, was reviewed during the meeting. Officials were directed to clear pending cases under these and other flagship schemes to ensure timely benefits to eligible applicants.
Kishore also stressed the need for greater public awareness about government welfare and credit-linked programmes and directed departments to incorporate information on such schemes into their regular outreach activities.
The meeting reviewed the implementation of social security schemes, including the Pradhan Mantri Suraksha Bima Yojana (PMSBY), Pradhan Mantri Jeevan Jyoti Bima Yojana (PMJJBY), Pradhan Mantri Jan Dhan Yojana (PMJDY) and Atal Pension Yojana (APY). The Deputy Commissioner called for coordinated efforts between banks and departments to achieve full coverage of eligible beneficiaries.
He also directed line departments to closely monitor the progress of flagship schemes, identify bottlenecks and ensure prompt resolution of pending cases.
The meeting was attended by officials from the Reserve Bank of India, district departments, J&K Bank and other public and private sector banks operating in the district.
