KPDCL announces power shutdowns in Kashmir areas

SRINAGAR, September 14: The Kashmir Power Distribution Corporation Limited (KPDCL) has announced scheduled power shutdowns in several areas of Kashmir due to maintenance work on various 33 kV transmission lines.

According to the Chief Engineer, Distribution, KPDCL, power supply to Watlab, Warpora, Hatlangoo, Dangerpora, Qunsoo, Dooru, Mundji, Shiva, Tujjar, Shrine, Arampora, Adipora and adjoining areas will remain affected from 8 am to 2 pm on September 15 due to a shutdown of the 33 kV Amargarh-Bandipora line.

A shutdown of the 33 kV LJHP-Uri line will affect power supply to Salamabad, NHPC, MES Uri, TFC Uri, Gharkote, Bandi, Mohura, Rampur, Bijhama, Dhani, Bagna, Kamalkote, Paranpillam and nearby areas from 8 am to 2 pm on September 21, 23, 26, 28 and 30, and October 3.

Power supply to K.K. Mohalla, Nowpora, Bohrikadal, B.B. Shah, Babademb, Bishembarnagar, Gousia Hospital, Naisarak, Barbarshah, Exchange, Basantbagh, Car Parking, Maisuma and adjoining areas will remain affected from 8 am to 2 pm on September 19 due to shutdowns of the 33 kV Bemina-Fateh Kadal and 33 kV Bemina-Barbarshah lines.

Similarly, electricity supply to Ashajipora, Dialgam, Rohu, Malaknag, Reshibazar, Janglat Mandi, Shirpora, Nowgam and neighbouring areas will be disrupted from 8 am to 2 pm on September 15 and 17 because of maintenance work on the 33 kV Wanpoh-Ashajipora line.

KPDCL also said that power supply to Budgam, Sabdan, Nasrullahpora, Jawalapora, Ompora Town, SIDCO Housing Colony, Budgam Railway Station, the National Institute of Fashion Technology (NIFT) campus and adjoining areas will remain affected from 8 am to 2 pm on September 17 due to a shutdown of the 33 kV Budgam line.
