ANANTNAG: Several districts registered victories on Thursday as the Inter-District Provincial-Level (IDPL) Girls Cricket Tournament, organised by the Department of Youth Services and Sports (YSS), continued at various venues across Anantnag district.
At Chowgund Ground, hosts Anantnag defeated Pulwama by 13 runs. Batting first, Anantnag scored 95 for 2, with Saima Jan making 31 off 24 balls and Muqadas Jan contributing 29 off 26 deliveries. Pulwama replied with 82 for 6, as Arooba Jan scored 24 and Jasiya Jan added 16. Yasoob Rashid and Maleeha Zahid claimed two wickets each for Anantnag, while Yasoob Rashid was named Player of the Match.
In another match at the same venue, Anantnag defeated Ganderbal by 10 wickets. Ganderbal were bowled out for 36 runs before Anantnag chased the target in 2.4 overs, reaching 39 without loss. Muntaha Jan scored 19 off 10 balls, while Yasoob Rashid earned her second Player of the Match award of the day.
At Nadegaon, Kupwara defeated Srinagar by nine wickets after restricting them to 40 runs. Kupwara chased down the target comfortably, with Aiman Bashir scoring 18 off 13 balls and Musyan Lateef making 13 off seven deliveries. Arhmaan Shaheen was adjudged Player of the Match.
Shopian later defeated Srinagar by 28 runs. Shopian scored 107 runs before limiting Srinagar to 79 for 2. Faika Bilal top-scored with 32 off 24 balls and was named Player of the Match.
Kupwara also defeated Shopian by 43 runs. Kupwara posted 93 for 4, with Mannat remaining unbeaten on 26, while Shopian were restricted to 50 for 8. Aamina was declared Player of the Match for her bowling performance.
At Zamalgam, Srinagar secured a 65-run victory over Bandipora. Srinagar scored 137 runs after electing to bat, with Vitasta producing an unbeaten 81 off 26 balls and Manzar contributing 29 off 18 deliveries. Bandipora were restricted to 72 runs in reply. Vitasta was named Player of the Match.
In another match at the venue, Kupwara recorded a dominant win over Bandipora after posting 163 runs. Aaiman Bashir scored 61 off 20 balls, while Marmmat and Maryam added 31 and 25 runs respectively. Bandipora failed to challenge the target, with the scorecard recording a 132-run victory for Kupwara. Aaiman Bashir was adjudged Player of the Match.
At another venue, Baramulla defeated Budgam by 37 runs. Baramulla scored 116 runs after winning the toss, with Adfar Jan making 61 off 28 balls. Budgam managed 79 runs in reply. Adfar Jan was named Player of the Match.
In a closely contested match at Doru, Ganderbal edged past Budgam by three runs. Batting first, Ganderbal scored 116 runs, led by Sadaf’s 47 off 21 balls. Budgam finished on 113 runs despite Muntazir’s 31-run knock. Sadaf was adjudged Player of the Match for her innings.
The tournament continues to provide a competitive platform for young cricketers from across Jammu and Kashmir, with several players producing notable performances during the ongoing competition.
