AYUSH Director reviews hospitals, healthcare services in Jammu and Samba

Jammu: Director AYUSH J&K, Ajay Kumar Tikoo, on Monday reviewed AYUSH healthcare services and infrastructure in Jammu and Samba districts, directing officials to expedite the operationalisation of new facilities and strengthen service delivery.

During the visit, Tikoo inspected the 10-bedded Integrated AYUSH Hospital at Gari Garh in Jammu and reviewed its functioning. He directed the staff to ensure that inpatient services are made operational at the earliest to expand healthcare facilities in the area.

He also visited the under-construction 50-bedded Integrated AYUSH Hospital at Nonath in Ghagwal, Samba, where he assessed the progress of work and instructed officials to ensure timely completion of the project and adherence to prescribed standards.

Later, the Director chaired a review meeting on the functioning of the AYUSH sector in Samba district, focusing on programme implementation, institutional performance and service delivery. Officials presented the status of various AYUSH programmes and highlighted operational challenges.

Tikoo directed officers to ensure effective implementation of health programmes, improve outreach and adopt measures to increase patient footfall. He also stressed the need for implementing the AYUSH Health Management Information System (AHMIS) to strengthen digital record-keeping and monitoring of healthcare services.
